Kate practices patient-centered care that is grounded in the lineage of acupuncture and Chinese medicine. With over a decade of experience in the world of movement and mindfulness, Kate focuses on getting people out of pain and living in a more embodied relationship with their present life. She has spent years studying the impacts of stress and pain on the inner workings of our systems and as a physically active, working mom, understands the importance of maintaining wellness of both body and mind. Kate holds a Master’s Degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine between Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Manhattan and Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in Portland, OR. During her course of study, her research investigated the neurological changes that occur in the brain with chronic pain and the positive impact of acupuncture in the treatment of pain conditions.
Prior to becoming an acupuncturist Kate was considered a well respected teacher and mentor. She taught yoga in studio classes as well as yoga teacher trainings globally. She also taught meditation and mindfulness in many different containers, from local classes to global corporations. She continues to practice meditation daily and incorporates mindfulness tools and movement therapy in her treatments with patients.
When not in the office, Kate loves to cook meals for friends, do The NY Times crossword, mountain bike with her husband, and be outdoors with their daughter and two pups.
